Method Acting

Actors were not to emote in the traditional manner of stage conventions, but to speak and gesture in a manner one would use in private life.

Konstantin Stanislavski was a director at the Moscow Art Theater, wrote a number of books on acting, the first of which, An Actor Prepares, published in english translation in 1936

Favorite Actors

I don't have any favorite actors.

A good actor is when the actor can do many types of rolls.

They are very diverse in the type of movies they act in.

They catch an audience from the first time they say or do anything.

Hamlet's state of mind is that he thinks something bad is going to happen, "all is not well," but he is trying to stay calm.

1. Hamlet's speech on page 26-29 is a soliloquy because he is on stage alone talking after everyone except him exits the stage.

2. He doesn't like what his mother's decisions have been because his father did so much for her, "so loving to my mother that he might not beteem the winds of heaven visit her face too roughly", when he was alive just two months ago.

Film Review

He doesn't really have a hook. If there is one you can't tell or it isn't a good one.

He gives background about the guy who invented facebook. He talks about the film mostly.

He doesn't discuss the film techniques at all.

Screwball Comedy

In the mid-1930s a new film genre, screwball comedy, arose in American cinema. Based upon the old "boy-meets-girl" formula turned topsy-turvy, it generally presented the eccentric, female-dominated courtship of an upper-class couple.
